E&I Engineer in the offshore decommissioning industry

As an E&I (Electrical and Instrumentation) Engineer you will help in the preparation and execution of offshore topside decommissioning preparation phases from interface to hand-over to topside removal project team. As a very autonomous and multiskilled engineer, you will be asked to bring innovative methodologies for preparation work, challenging the industry know-how and working on a fit for purpose solution.

 

Job responsibilities include:

  • Assist in designing, planning and managing the interface between jack-ups and platforms
    • Gather, review and assess the interface related data (electrical/instrumentation/automation)
    • Design and propose a platform – Jackup interface solution for all required control and emergency systems
    • Review and update of Combined Operation Performance standards
    • Define requirement of surface operations in the COMOPS documents
  • Support offshore activities
    • Troubleshoot and support offshore team during HCS (Hydro Carbon Safe ) with regards to the management of the platform controls and any E&I related subject
    • Provide expert information and assist rig management team with any E&I task on the rigs
    • Be the technical support for the offshore rig electricians
  • Offshore supervision during critical phases, in particular during the preparation and the execution of the interface
  • Be the Nominated as Subject Matter Expert– Electrical SME

 

Qualification and Skills

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

 

Education: Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Experience min. 10 years in a service or operating company working in the Oil & Gas industry with strong focus on E&I engineering and operations
  • Previous knowledge of decommissioning operations is a plus
  • High experience in interfaces between jackup rigs and fixed installations
  • Detailed knowledge of topside Digital Control Systems (DCS)
  • Familiarity with international electrical codes, standards, project specifications, safety aspect, design philosophies, cathodic protection, umbilical, telecommunication and Fire & Gas systems
  • Offshore experience mandatory (ideally in UKCS)
  • Right to work in the Netherlands
  • Knowledge and understanding of the UK Oil and Gas regulations
  • Willing to travel onshore and offshore
  • Interest and curiosity for other activities of the decommissioning field (dismantlement, wells and P&A, regulatory compliance)
  • Software:
    • AutoCAD (general knowledge)
    • MS Project or similar
    • MS Office
  • Fluency in English (Dutch, French a plus)
  • Team player, autonomous, flexible and eager to contribute
