Job Summary:
The position Offshore Project Superintendent is to coordinate the labour force and subcontractors on site, to act in accordance with company procedures and method statements. The Superintendent have the overall responsibility of the project execution.
The Offshore Project superintendent is based offshore on a Heavy lift jack-up barge, on rotation, 3 weeks ON/OFF and directly reports to the Offshore Installation Manager.
Projects Summary:
The projects will start with the integration/outfitting of the project equipment to the newly built Heavy lift (ROV, transfer system, lifting equipment and tools, etc) and the commissioning of it in the yard. The initial offshore campaigns comprise the removal of jackets (up to 4 jackets in one batch) in the North Sea UK sector followed by load-in at the disposal yard. The subsequent campaigns will consist of jacket and topside removal with larger-scale projects starting in 2026.
Main activities:
- Manage a direct team of 2 Engineers and 2 Supervisors, with indirect management of up to 50 subcontractors depending on the project size. Responsible for the performance of the team.
- Interface with the Jack-up OIM and the project team to coordinate the work as efficiently as possible.
- Ensure the work is always performed in compliance with company rules and local regulations.
- Review method statements, job cards and lift plans. Provide input to the onshore project team on Best Available Techniques and offshore operational constraints when applicable.
- Responsible for the safe and most efficient execution of the project offshore, according to the company procedures and method statements.
- Oversee the execution planning, provide updates and suggest changes to the onshore team. Manage the available resources offshore (labour and equipment) in the most efficient way.
- Reporting daily progress and documenting project costs, and lessons learnt and supporting the onshore team in the close-out reporting.
- Proactively manage the changes with the offshore project team and communicate with onshore Project and engineering teams to approve the changes.
- Ensure that Petrodec’s project equipment on board is maintained periodically and is within certification at the time of project execution. Verify that the subcontractor’s equipment is fit for purpose.
Profile:
- Minimum 10 years experience in the Offshore installation Decommissioning and/or Hook-up, with Heavy lift experience.
- Previous experience in a similar position.
- Technical education in Engineering or Marine discipline
Attitude and skills:
- Willing to be part of a fast-paced developing company, with a steep learning curve, to share its experience and knowledge with the team.
- Expert in offshore Construction / Decommissioning projects.
- Knowledge of Heavy lifting, subsea construct/destruct work (ROV), welding, rope access.
- Team player and autonomous worker.
- Very good computer skills with the ability to create detailed and meticulous documentation, reporting, and cost control.
- Good communication skills. English mandatory.
- Working experience in the North Sea sector is a plus
