Role Purpose

As a Document Controller, you play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of technical documentation across Petrodec’s Engineering, Operations, Projects, and Wells teams. You will implement, manage, and maintain the document control system, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and compliance with Petrodec’s policies and procedures.

Your work enables efficient project execution, audit readiness, and adherence to industry standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain an effective corporate document management system.
  • Ensure valid and approved documents are available at all relevant locations (onshore, offshore, and in the EDMS).
  • File documents, drawings, records, and certificates according to Petrodec’s filing standards.
  • Control new and revised documents, ensuring review and approval by authorised personnel.
  • Track and file all incoming and outgoing communications and documentation.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the document management system.
  • Assist Engineering and Rig Managers with project documentation preparation.
  • Support during third-party audits from clients or certifying bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and industry standards.
  • Report regularly to the Engineering Manager on progress and document control activities.

 

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in document control or a similar administrative role within an engineering, oil & gas, or technical environment.
  • Familiarity with document management systems (EDMS) and filing standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Knowledge of industry documentation standards and audit procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and relevant software tools.
